1. What This Extension Does

Email, Phone & Social Lead Extractor is a browser extension that scans web pages to find email addresses, phone numbers, social media profile links, and EU/UK/Swiss VAT (tax ID) numbers. It operates in three modes:

• Quick Scan — reads the content of the currently active tab.
• Deep Scan — reads the current tab and fetches linked pages on the same site to look for more leads.
• Bulk Scan — fetches a list of URLs provided by the user from an uploaded file and extracts leads from each.

2. Data We Collect

We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. Specifically:

• The extension reads the content of pages you ask it to scan solely to identify email addresses, phone numbers, social profile links, and VAT ID patterns.
• Any leads found are displayed only within the extension popup and are never sent anywhere outside your browser.
• Leads you choose to save, and your extension preferences, are stored using your browser's built-in local storage (IndexedDB / localStorage) — on your device only. We have no server, so we never receive this data.
• URL lists uploaded via the Bulk Scan feature are processed entirely within your browser and are never uploaded to any server we control.
• Exported CSV, JSON, TXT, and vCard files are saved directly to your local device using the browser's download mechanism.
• If Chrome's built-in on-device AI (Gemini Nano) is available, optional lead scoring and outreach-message drafting run entirely on your device. No page content or lead data is sent to any AI service over the network.

3. Permissions Explained

• activeTab — lets the extension read the content of the tab you're currently viewing, and only when you click Quick Scan or Deep Scan. It grants no access to any page until you take that action.
• scripting — lets the extension run its extraction logic on the page you asked it to scan, to find emails, phone numbers, social links, and VAT IDs. It never modifies the page or sends its content anywhere.
• Host permission (<all_urls>) — the extension's purpose is scanning whatever page or URL list you choose, which could be any website, so it needs the ability to run on any host you explicitly scan. It never runs in the background or on pages you haven't asked it to check.

4. Third-Party Requests

During a Deep Scan or Bulk Scan, the extension makes direct HTTP requests to websites you instruct it to scan. These are standard web requests made from your browser — no intermediary server is involved. The extension does not load any third-party scripts, analytics, or tracking libraries, and does not sell or share data with anyone.

5. Local Storage

The extension uses your browser's local IndexedDB and localStorage exclusively to persist saved leads and your preferences (such as scan settings, the semicolon-CSV toggle, and whether you've seen the latest "What's New" notice). This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to us or anyone else.

6. Children's Privacy

This extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, the revised version will be posted at this page with an updated date. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
